Busoga United 2-1 Kitara FC

Busoga United came from behind to beat Kitara FC 2-1 at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday to end the first round on a positive note.

Nathan Oloro first put Kitara ahead on five minutes but Shaka Ssozi grabbed a brace for Busoga to claim all three points.

The win for Busoga, only their second in 15 matches, moves them to 12 points but they stay third from bottom.

This was Kitara’s 11th defeat, and leaves them level on six points with bottom side Myda.

But Kitara started with promise, here, Edison Agondeze crafting an opportunity for Oloro for a fifth minute lead.

But Ssozi, Franco Onen and Isma Mugulusi had other ideas, conducting proceedings for the hosts with verve.

Soon Busoga levelled, Ssozi finishing off an Onen move on 25 minutes.

For the winner, it was Mugulusi placing it on for Ssozi this time, and the latter did not disappoint, killing it off for all three points on 50 minutes.
