Bul 0-3 Busoga United
Busoga United went third in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) following a comprehensive 3-0 away victory against Bul in the Eastern Uganda derby on Wednesday.
A Boban Zirintusa penalty 18 minutes from full time, a Joel Madondo beauty and Lawrence Tezikya’s icing on the cake in injury time made it two wins in four matches to move Busoga to six points.
This was Bul’s first defeat of the campaign, and it leaves the Jinja side in sixth place with as many points. Wakiso Giants top the standings on seven points after four matches.
Vipers and KCCA are two matches behind the leaders but won their opening two games.
Zirintusa was in fine form on the evening, adding an assist for Tezikya’s late goal to his own strike that opened the floodgates from the spot.
But the major goal highlight came 10 minutes from time. Douglas Muganga crossed from the right and a Bul defender’s clearance could only find Madondo at the edge of the box.
The striker chested it down and fired ferociously into the top right corner for 2-0.
But there was one hero silent from the scoreline. Isaac Isinde was immense in defence rallying his mates to shut out all Bul attacks. The defender won the Pilsner Man of the Match award.
