Vipers SC 5-0 Police

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) 2021/22 champions, Vipers SC, were on Saturday crowned after dispatching relegated Police in style at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The five-time champions put up a five star performance, thrashing Police 5-0 to finish the season on 74 points, a massive 18 ahead of closest rivals KCCA.

Milton Karisa and Bobosi Byaruhanga scored a brace apiece, with Yunus Sentamu getting the other goal.

The match also saw retiring Police and former Uganda Cranes midfielder, Tony Mawejje, acknowledged for his service to the game with a minute’s applause in the sixth minute. Jersey six has been his number at Police and Cranes.

Current Fufa President Moses Magogo and his predecessor, Lawrence Mulindwa,  handed over the medals to the Venoms after the match to much fanfare.

Vipers will represent Uganda at next season’s CAF Champions League.
