Wakiso Giants 1-2 Vipers SC
It was business as usual as the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions elect, Vipers SC, racked up yet another victory on Saturday.
Wakiso Giants were the victims this time, the hosts falling 2-1 at home at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Bobosi Byaruhanga and the league’s leading scorer Caesar Manzoki scored for the visitors while Moses Aliro got Wakiso’s consolation.
Vipers 22nd win in 29 games, in which they have scored 64 goals against 19, has them soaring at 71 points, a massive 15 ahead of second placed KCCA.
The Venoms secured their fifth league title with four matches to play, and are now seamlessly cruising to the crowning day against relegated Police next Saturday.
They started in similar fashion at Kyabaggu Stadium, Byaruhanga completing a good move with an equally good strike from distance on 13 minutes.
Manzoki, the best striker in the league, doubled Vipers advantage with his 18th of the league season for a 2-0 half time lead.
Aliro pulled one back for the hosts on 54 minutes but the Venoms held on for all three points.
Wakiso’s 15th defeat in 29 matches has them in eighth with 36 points.
