Vipers, who won their StarTimes Uganda Premier League, kick off their preliminary first leg of the CAF Champions League away to Jwaneng Galaxy FC in Botswana on August 20.

Vipers captain Milton Karisa (middle) leads the celebrations after scoring for his club last season.

On their part, KCCA were saved the preliminary round in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The bye means they will face the winner between Olympique de Beja of Tunisia and Abo Selim of Libya in the next round. KCCA start away from home on September 15-17.

Vipers will be looking to go a step better than last season when they made the group stage but failed to win any game while KCCA will be returning to the continent for the first time in over two years.
