SC Villa’s Jackson Magera and Maroons goalkeeper Simon Tamale swept Pilsner awards for best coach and player of February/March respectively.

Coach Magera was named the best in the said months ahead of URA’s Sam Timbe and Maroons’ Muhammad Senfuma on Thursday at Kati Kati, Kampala.

During the period, Magera guided Villa from third to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table, where they leapfrogged BUL and KCCA.

Actually, Villa went unbeaten during that time, only dropping points to Gaddafi in Jinja.

Villa beat Onduparaka, Express, BUL and Busoga United in the said period.

The Jogoos have 40 points, three ahead of second-placed KCCA.

The best player accolade for the said period went to Maroons goalkeeper, Tamale.

Tamale was exceptional for Maroons between the sticks, conceding only once in the four matches they played in February and March.
