For the second week running, FUFA Super League Limited in conjunction with the Uganda Premier League Board have held  a joint pre-match press conference at Nelson Mandela stadium.

The well attended press conference took place on Thursday morning ahead of the three Uganda Premier league matches.

UPL Chief Executive Officer, Bernard Bainamani flanked by the Communications manager oversaw the press briefing intended to bring the true picture ahead of matches.

‘Like we promised, these press conferences are key in a contemporary and professional running of the game. We shall maintain the pre and post match press conferences before all Azam Uganda Premier league engagements’ Senkayi noted.

On Friday, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club hosts Maroons F.C at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi, a fixture that will be televised live on Azam Television.

The other two matches will shall be Soana F.C play host to JMC Hippos at Kavumba recreational grounds and Sadolin Paints will entertain Simba F.C at Bugembe stadium.

URA F.C was represented by former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper, Sadiq Wassa, Maroons’ head coach, Paddy Kintu attended with the team skipper, Slyvester Okello and so was Soana F.C veteran captain, Hamis Kitagenda.

In typical pre-match hype and assurances, the coaches and captains did not disappoint with the verbal artillery.

“We can never be taken for granted. We have 13 games left and we need the results to survive relegation. We target maximum points against URA” vowed the 65 year old Kintu.

Wassa told the media that the URA F.C is prepared for home victory bearing in mind they do have any fresh injury concerns.

‘Apart from Oscar Agaba who has family issues, we expect a full team at Lugazi on Friday and a good game’ Wassa, also a goalkeeping coach added.

Soana’s Charles Ayiekho will ring changes ahead of his side’s home tie with JMC Hippos.

JMC Hippos won the first round corresponding match 4-0.

Soana captain, Kitagenda predicted a much easier game as they quest for a top five finish in the league by May 2016.
