Uganda Cranes continue preparations for the crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against neighbours Tanzania this week.
Three more players joined the non-residential camp at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday to give Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre more options to work with.
They include Hassan Wasswa (El Gaish), Isaac Muleme (Haras El Hodood) and Denis Iguma (Kazman FC).
Wasswa is one of the senior players in the squad. He says the players are fully aware of what is at stake on Saturday at Namboole.
“We have not come here for holidays but to win against Tanzania,” said the Egypt-based midfielder.
“It is all about staying focused and working hard. This is the right time for our team to go back to Afcon.”
Uganda played at Africa’s premier showpiece last year, ending a 40-year absence from the Nations Cup.
“This is a game of a lifetime. We will only play for a win. We are well motivated and all players are ready to give in their best.
“We respect Tanzania but we are sorry for them we have to fight and get three points off them,” added the Cranes assistant captain.
Twenty players took part in Sunday’s training. Moses Opondo (Vendsyssel FF), Kizito Luwagga (Bate Bolisov) Edrisa Lubega (Reid), Derrick Nsibambi (Smouha), Godfrey Walusimbi (Keiser Chiefs) and Miya Farouk (HNK Gorica) are expected in camp by end of Monday.
Uganda lead the 2019 Afcon qualifier Group L on three points from the only game played so far in the campaign. The Cranes beat Carpe Verde 1-0 away from home.
