Uganda Vs Ivory Coast, 10:00pm

For the fourth successive African Nations Championship (Chan) edition Uganda are heading home after just three group matches.

This was confirmed when the Cranes lost to Namibia on Thursday, their second straight defeat following a 3-1 thrashing at the hands of Zambia four days earlier.

But before they return home,  Uganda still have the small matter of Ivory Coast, who travel back with the Cranes to their respective homes after Monday’s clash in Marrakech.

And Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre is demanding his players go for a respectable finish.

“The game against Cote D’Ivoire is not a friendly match,” said Desabre from Marrakech.

“We need every player to give in 100 percent commitment to make sure Uganda finishes third in the group.”

Uganda and Ivory Coast lost their first two group matches to allow Zambia and Namibia progress to the last eight with a game to spare.

“The evaluation of players continues and with the football exhibited in the first two matches, this will be a good stepping stone to continue with the team.”
