Miguel Da Costa congratulated Bright Stars for knowing how to defend in their 0-0 draw with Vipers at Matugga.
The visitors played nearly the whole game with a man less but defended till the final whistle to pick a point off the former champions.
“One team attacking, one team defending,” he said in a post-match interview.
But you know what, it’s not easy to know how to defend and the other team knew to defend. I must congratulate the other team for the work they have done.
The Portuguese says the game was even made harder after the red to Bright Stars midfielder Jimmy Kakooza as it meant the whole team would go behind the ball.
When they don’t have the ball, they put eleven players behind. But after the referee put one of their players out, our job was even harder because that way, they didn’t have 10 players but 10 fighting for every ball.
On the officiating, Miguel said the referee made two grave mistakes that cost either side.
One red card for a home team isn’t a red card and another for a penalty which was denied to us but its okay.
Vipers’ next game is a home tie against Bul FC at Kitende on Friday.
