SUPL Tuesday Result
Police 1-4 Nyamityobora
Remember the name: Ibrahim Dada Juma. The forward was all over Police on Tuesday as he scored a hattrick in Nyamityobora’s 4-1 thrashing of the Cops at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo.
While the result was not enough to take Nyamityobora out of the relegation zone, Asaph Mwebaze’s side will take plenty of positives from the performance against an otherwise equally enterprising Police side.
“It is a big result because if we win our next game there is a possibility of moving out of the relegation places,” Mwebaze said after the game.
Dada got his first goal after his effort hit the post and bounced in off goalkeeper Davis Mutebi on 22 minutes.
He turned Ibrahim Kibumba inside out for his second, scoring with a low shot before lifting the ball over Mutebi for his third and fourth goal for Nyamityobora on 89 minutes.
“The way we lost possession, we missed many chances, it’s very ashaming. The players’ mentality was poor, we were just reckless,” said Police coach Abdallah Mubiru.
Damien Nakalema got Nyamityobora’s other goal while Arafat Galiwango scored Police’s consolation.
Police drop to month on 21 points while Nyamityobora stay third from bottom on 12.
