Desabre names eight UPL stars on team to face Tanzania

Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Louis Serge Desabre has named eight StarTimes Uganda Premier League players on the team for the training camp ahead of the 2019 Afcon qualifier against Tanzania.

The five come from log leaders KCCA while the rest are from second placed and reigning champions Vipers.

Youngster Allan Okello was the surprise inclusion while Halid Lwaliwa returns to the team after over a year since he broke his leg while on national duty.

Usual suspects Ibrahim Sadam Juma, Allan Kyambadde, Patrick Kaddu, Taddeo Lwanga and Moses Waiswa make the cut.

Shockingly, there is no place for any of the top league goal scorers in Juma Balinya, Joel Madondo, Bashir Mutanda and Daniel Sserunkuma.

Uganda already qualified for the finals due in Egypt mid-year but target a winning finish to the campaign in Dar es Salaam on March 24.
