Double dream reality for KCCA

Ugandan champions KCCA have a chance to end elusive wait for a domestic double but must win against Paidha Black Angels in the finals of the 2017 Uganda Cup.The Kasasiro remains the only side from within VEK never to win the double but after overcoming Express 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals, they have a realistic chance.

The FUFA Big League side, Paidha Black Angels eliminated relegated Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) side Sadolin Paints 3-2 on aggregate and will also be targeting to become the first lower tier side to clinch the trophy.

Cup final date set to be rescheduled

Earlier, the date for the Cup final due at Betway Green Light stadium, Arua had been set as June 10, 2017 but a change is inevitable.

On the same day, Uganda Cranes will be facing Cape Verde in the opening match of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

With a 2-3 KCCA players expected to be on the national team, the Federation is expected to announce change in the date.

KCCA boost of 8 triumphs in the competition but have lost the most finals, 7 in the history of the Cup.
