Mbarara City Coach Vialli Bainomugisha admitted his were second best in the 3-0 loss to Proline at Lugogo on Friday.
Fahad Bayo, Sula Matovu and Joseph Mandela scored the goals for the hosts with the former scoring as early as four minutes.
Bainomugisha said the early goal had everything to do with their loss but also cited the synthetic playing surface and fatigue as other factors.
“I think we were unlucky with the early goal,” said Bainomugisha. “It killed us and then other factors also never played in our favour,” he added.
“The boys were tired after travelling on match day and to many, the artificial playing surface was alien.
The former Lweza tactician also cited lack of experience despite his team having experienced heads in Asuman Buyinza, Yesseri Waibi, Asuman Alishe and Ali Kimera among others.
Inexperience was another factor for our humbling loss since most of my boys a new to league situations, this is a tough league and they too need to toughen up.
Mbarara City have now lost two games in succession and return to action a week later with a home game against Police.
