The international friendly match between two Cecafa nations, Ethiopia and Uganda, could only end in a stalemate at the Hawassa International Stadium on Saturday.Both teams were using the match as part of the preparations for their respective 2019 Afcon qualifiers this weekend, in which Uganda travel to Cape Verde and Ethiopia face Ghana.
There was really little to write about up north, with both coaches trying out this and that.
Cranes coach Micho Sredejovic made sweeping changes after the break, leaving only goalkeeper Saidi Keni on the bench.
Martin Kizza replaced Crizestom Ntambi, Milton Karisa came on for Robert Kakeeto, Muhammed Shaban replaced Emmanuel Okwi, Nelson Senkatuka came on for Farouk Miya while Deus Bukenya came on for Khalid Aucho.
Hassan Wasswa paved way for returning Savio Kabugo.
Uganda next face Senegal on Monday night in Dakar City.
There after, they will fly to Praia City for Saturday’s Afcon qualifying opener against Cape Verde.
