Express aim to close in on leaders, Giants visit Gaddafi

Friday Fixtures 3pm

  • Express vs Soltilo Bright Stars – Betway Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku (Live on Sanyuka TV)
  • Gaddafi vs Wakiso Giants – Gaddafi Arena, Jinja City

Reigning champions Express will trim the gap at the top to just two points if they beat visiting Soltilo Bright Stars on Friday.

Following a poor start to the season, the Red Eagles are now unbeaten in 12 outings since their match day two defeat to UPDF in Bombo.

With 26 points in third place, a win will take them to joint second with Vipers who like leaders KCCA are not in action until Saturday.

However, both teams will have two games in hand over Wasswa Bbosa’s side who complete the first round fixtures on Friday.

In Jinja City, Wakiso Giants take on newly promoted Gaddafi at the Gaddafi Arena.

Both teams are buoyed by their last outings with Wakiso Giants beating BUL 4-3 at Wakissha while Gaddafi came from behind to salvage a draw against giants URA.

A win could take the Purple Sharks as high as third on the 16-team table while Gaddafi will overtake URA in 7th place with maximum points.
