If the current season is to be halted completely, Express would be the biggest beneficiary as they will be declared champions for the seventh time.

The Red Eagles are top of the standings with 58 points with four rounds to play and are in the semi-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Their coach Wasswa Bbosa says he wants the season completed sportingly and that stopping it forever denies them to win a league and cup double for the first time since 1995.

“Express is not leading the UPL table by coincidence we deservedly earned our 58 points in the last 26 games to go above everyone else,” he told Football 256.

“Of course, I want us to complete the season. We (Express) are chasing two titles (UPL and Uganda Cup), and we want them both.”

Last season, Vipers were declared winners after league was halted due to the Coronavirus pandemic that has sent the nation into another 42 days lockdown.
