Friday result

Express 1-1 URA

Express came from a goal down to earn a point in the 1-1 draw with URA at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on Friday.

It took marksman Eric Kambale’s 72nd minute leveller to cancel out Sadiq Ssekyembe’s first half goal and prevent the home side from defeat.

The result leaves Express in seventh on 32 points while URA stay third – seven points ahead of the Red Eagles.

Express interim coach James Odoch remains winless since replacing Wasswa Bbosa a month ago.

But he was proud of his team’s showing in this StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) clash that they actually dominated.

“This game has showed that the players are trying to adapt to what we are teaching them because we are transforming from the old to the new style,” said Odoch.

“We played better and I think we were just unlucky not to convert our chances.”

The defending champions, Express, have now gone seven games without a win, drawing six of them.

Odoch himself is yet to win a game since replacing Bbosa last month.  He has been in charge of four games, drawing three of them.
