Express had Daniel Sserunkuma to thank for a priceless 1-0 victory over rivals URA in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) on Tuesday.
The six-time champions were recording only their second win in five matches, which moved them fourth on five points.
Express coach Douglas Banweyana, pleased with the home fans vibrant self, was relieved his team held on for all three points after the Red Eagles appeared to run out of steam in the second half.
“We’re just happy to get the win,” he said, “We want to pick points particularly from our direct rivals.”
Despite the hot and cold start, Bamweyana still believes his team have what it takes to challenge for the title.
