Bul vs Express – Kyabazinga Stadium – Bugembe, Jinja
To be played between 19th – 31st August 2021 (Home and Away)
Police and Bul will play host to their respective first legs of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after the semifinal draws were conducted on Monday.
The Cops drew giants Vipers and Bul landed in Express’ way in the draws presided over by former Uganda Cranes and Express star Fred Tamale at Fufa House in Mengo, Kampala.
Tamale is also a winner of the Cup in 1994, 1995 and 1997.
The two-legged semifinal matches will be played between August 19 and 31, and the away goal’s rule will be used to determine the winner.
Fufa deputy CEO in charge of football Decolas Kiiza represented the Fufa President Moses Magogo at the drawing ceremony.
“I thank the sponsors (Stanbic Bank and Kansai Plascon),” said Kiiza.
“We express gratitude for those who have been affected by the pandemic of COVID-19.
“FUFA made the decision to name URA as the CAF representative to beat the deadline and the only criteria we had was to go with the second placed team in the league.
“We shall name a new venue for the finals.”
Chief guest, Fred Tamale, said “it is good that the game has sponsors now. We did not have sponsors in our time.
“I recall in 1994, we were playing Posta. We had a low first half and returned to score two second half goals.
“The Uganda Cup is a do or die competition where every game is a cup finale.”
Stanbic Bank is the main sponsor of this annual tournament, joined by paints gurus; Kansai Plascon.
