SC Villa 1-2 Express

Express came from a goal down to beat sworn rivals SC Villa 2-1 at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Saturday.

An Amir Kakomo own goal and Eric Kambale winner ensured last season’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions went away with all three points.

Isaac Ogwang had given the hosts a fifth minute lead to give coach Petros Kokouras’ side hope.

Express stayed in fifth place but moved to 39 points, a massive 13 behind leaders Vipers,.

Villa’s 10th defeat in 24 matches kept the Jogoos dangerously flirting with relegation.

They are two places and four places off relegation.

Villa started promisingly, throwing bodies upfront as they probed the visitors. The reward arrived on five minutes, Ogwang the executioner.

Express reacted with questions of their own, and Villa soon yielded with Kakomo turning the ball into his own net on 17 minutes.

The stage was set with the Red Eagles marksman, Kambale to score what turned out the eventual winner on the stroke of half time.
