Saturday Results, Match Day 22

Express 2-0 Police
Kitara 2-2 Busoga United
BUL 1-1 Mbarara City (Washed out after 60 minutes)

Express kept up their title chase with a 2-0 victory over Police at the Betway Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium on a partly water-logged pitch on Saturday.

A goal in either half from striker Eric Kambale and Godfrey Lwesibawa saw the Red Eagles record their 13th victory of the season and completing a double over Police.

Kambale scored the opener inside just four minutes, the forward capitalizing on Derrick Ochan’s indecision.

Lwesibawa then made it 2-0 three minutes into the second half, beating the goalkeeper to his near-post.

The match was not devoid of drama. With 20 minutes left on the clock, Police win a penalty after defender Isa Lumu tripped down Brian Muruli.

But Express goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga was equal to the task, denying striker Ben Ocen’s resultant kick from the spot.

The win moves Express level on 46 points with Vipers, who face KCCA in Sunday, on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table.

The duo are four points behind leaders Uganda Revenue Authority.
