Less than a week after partying ways with long serving coach Wasswa Bbosa, Express have got a new tactician in Matia Lule.

The flamboyant coach was unveiled to the press on Sunday at Kibinge House by club chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi on a three year term and starts work with immediate effect.

Nakiwala told the media that after a long search, they discovered that Lule was the perfect choice for the job,

“Mathias Lule is a qualified coach and we have trusted him with the job to take Express F.C ahead,” she stated. “He is the right man for the job,” she added.

Lule, who returns to the side he coached between 2008-09 was delighted with the appointment and promised towards making the Red eagles a better side.

“For starters, it’s great to be back home,” he said. “I have supported Express my whole life and it’s great to return here in the capacity of not only a coach but a manager as well,” he added.

The former KCCA, Stand United and national U-17 side called upon all stakeholders in the club to work towards the same goal.

I can’t promise trophies but I want to get good performances from the boys. But if all people do their own work, from fans to management, then anything can happen.

Lule finds the six-time champions stuck in 7th on the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) log with 15 points after 12 games with the side winless in six consecutive games.

His first assignment comes on December 3 when at home against Sadolin Paints.
