Express 2-2 Maroons
Onduparaka 0-0 Bul
Express left Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru kicking themselves after surrendering a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Maroons on Tuesday.
Frank Kalanda and Frank Ssenyondo had given the Red Eagles the best head-start, the former converting a penalty for his sixth goal of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) campaign on 13 minutes and the latter doubling the advantage on the half hour with his fifth.
Coach George Ssimwogerere’s men were cruising now. But Maroons are a different preposition since coach Douglas Bamweyana took over at the start of the season.
They pulled one on the stroke of halftime back through Fred Amaku to go into the interval trailing by only one goal.
Steve Mukwala then got Maroons second and his sixth of the season on 53 minutes to hold on for a precious point.
The result moves fourth-placed Maroons to 17 points, 13 behind leaders Vipers, while Express are ninth on 14.
