Express, URA coaches content with point

There was nothing to separate StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) Express defending champions Express and URA when the two giants faced off at the weekend.

The clash at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku could only end in a scoreless stalemate as both teams continued to lat behind early pace setters KCCA, Vipers and BUL.

Express took maximum points off URA en route to their title last season. But coach Wasswa Bbosa’s men have now dropped two.

The title winning coach will, however, take the point earned.

“Because this was a big game,” said Bbosa, “we take the point earned and try to work on converting the goal scoring chances we create.”

The draw left Express sixth on the table with 16 points from 10 games. That is 10 behind leaders KCCA. URA dropped to eighth, three points behind the Red Eagles. But the Taxmen head coach, Sam Timbe, is encouraged.

“We need to work on the building towards the finishing,” said Timbe, “that is what we are focusing on.”
