Express 2-2 Vipers SC
Vipers SC dropped their first points of the season after securing one at national defending champions, Express, in the 2-2 draw at Wankulukuku on Saturday.
Defender Murushid Juuko and striker Eric Kambale scored Express goals while Caesar Manzoki and Livingston Mulondo got Vipers.
This was the first time in three matches Vipers, coached by Brazilian tactician Robertinho Oliveira, were dropping points.
They won their opening two games of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) with a combined scoreline of 7-0, Yunus Sentamu scoring four of those in a single match.
For coach Wasswa Bbosa and Express, this was their fourth point in as many games having lost two and won one.
Here at Wankulukuku, they came determined to claim all three.
But it is the guests that instead had their noses in front, Manzoki continuing his good start by scoring on 10 minutes.
Express battled back with Juuko scoring his first of the campaign, also the first Vipers were conceding, on 29 minutes.
The Red Eagles pressed on and their labour paid off in the first minute of added time to the half, sending them to the break 2-1 up.
Vipers were not about to lie down and lose this game as the Venoms pushed hard for the equaliser, which came with nine minutes to play through Mulondo.
The Venoms lie second on seven points, five behind leaders KCCA, who have played a game more.
Express are miles below in 10th on four points from as many games.
