Tuesday result
Express 1- 1 Vipers SC
There was nothing to separate Express and StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) defending champions, Vipers SC, as the two giants settled for a 1-1 draw at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
Godfrey Lwesibawa’s 55th minute free kick put the hosts ahead but visitors Vipers hit back through Karim Watambala just moments later.
The result sees coach Fred Kajoba’s men go second above URA on goal difference. Both have 11 points after five matches.
Coach Wasswa Bbosa’s Express remain seventh on nine points.
Express came into this with two wins and as many draws, while Vipers arrived at Wankulukuku high on confidence after a 7-0 thrashing of Myda three days earlier.
But once action kicked off, it was a pound for pound affair
Express drew first blood, Lwesibawa’s thunderous free kick taking a slight deflection to beat goalkeeper Fabian Mutombora 10 minutes into the second half.
But just three minutes later, another free kick levelled matters, Watambala the executioner this time. The league continues on Friday.
