Friday results
Onduparaka 1-1 URA
Mbarara City 0-0 Wakiso Giants
BUL 0-0 Soltilo Bright Stars
Express 1-0 Gaddafi
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) defending champions, Express, were the only side to win on Friday as three other fixtures could only end stalemates.
The Red Eagles were 1-0 winners over Gaddafi at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, thanks to Eric Kambale’s goal.
Kambale scored Express’ goal when he got to the end of Saddiq Ssekyembe’s ball four minutes to the half time break.
It was striker’s third goal in as many home games.
The win moves Express to 19 points but they remain fifth on the 16-team log.
This after Wakiso Giants picked a draw at Mbarara City to stay a place above the Red Eagles.
In Arua, URA drew for the fourth successive time as they settled for a point in a 1-1 stalemate at Onduparaka.
The four-time champions have not won since beating Vipers 2-0 at Kitende.
They are now eighth on 14 points from nine games while Onduparaka are 11th with as many points.
In Jinja, Soltilo Bright Stars moved out of the relegation zone for the first time this season after drawing goalless with BUL at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.
The visitors, however, had goalkeeper Simon Tamale to thank after he saved a first half penalty from Richard Wandyaka.
Elsewhere, Mbarara City were held to a goalless draw by Wakiso Giants at Kakyeka.
