Maroons 1-1 Express

Kirinya-Jinja 1-2 Bright Stars

Six-time Ugandan champions Express stayed in the bottom three of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) following their 1-1 draw with Maroons on Saturday.

The visitors were leading through a Michael Birungi first half goal but Abdallah Senyonga responded for Maroons after the break in Luzira.

Express are third from bottom on 26 points, and have five matches, starting with wounded KCCA on Tuesday, to save their season.

Against KCCA, Express face a side desperate to come back from Tuesday defeat against fellow title rivals Vipers.

Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons, enjoying their best season in recent times, are sixth on 35 points.

Stars shine Bright

Elsewhere, Nelson Senkatuka scored the winner for his 13th goal of the season as Bright Stars upstaged Kirinya-Jinja 2-1.

Faizal Muwawu put the hosts ahead on the first half time but Senkatuka, from a penalty spot, and Andrew Kaggwa struck to hand Bright Stars all three points.
