- FUS Rabat (Morocco) 3-0 KCCA (Uganda)
Uganda’s back to back champions KCCA made a false start to their CAF Confederation Cup group stages with a 3-0 loss to Morocco’s FUS Rabat in Rabat.
The hosts were enterprising from the first minute to the last as they dominated the Kasasiro and got in front as early as the 8th minute.
Brahim El Bahri opened the scoring with a headed effort that first hit the cross bar before ball found him unmarked again and made it 1-0 to send the home fans into frenzy.
KCCA survived a series of attack but couldn’t resist a second in the 42nd minute when Yusupha M O Njie tapped home from close range to give the Moroccan side a two-goal cushion into the break
Mike Mutebi made a change five minutes into the second half with Brian Majwega replaced with Ivan Ntege but there was to a be third goal for the hosts thanks to Karim Benairif.
With three minutes to the final whistle, Noel Nasasira came on for Denis Rukundo but it was too little too late to change the score line.
The loss leaves KCCA bottom of group A as FUS Rabat set the pace but all that awaits the fixture between Club Africain of Tunisia and Rivers United of Nigeria who face off later on Sunday.
KCCA’s next game is at home to Club Africain on Wednesday May 24.
