The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have on Wednesday handed over the badges to the FIFA referees for the year 2017.
This was at a ceremony at the FA Headquarters in Mengo where the FUFA boss Moses Magogo, helped by the FUFA Referees standing committee chairman Chris Kalibbala handed the relevant equipment to the 22 officials, three of which belong to Beach soccer.
Besides the badge, the referees were handed polar watches, cards, Identification Cards, tossing coins and the FIFA Referees Integrity Booklet.
Senior referees Brian Miiro, Denis Batte, Alex Muhabi, Mashood Ssali and Ali Sabilla Chelangat are among those certified by the world’s soccer governing body as centre referees while Mark Ssonko leads the assistant referees’ docket.
Musa Balikoowa Ngobi, who is serving a full season ban after his decision to deny Express a leveller against SC Villa at Namboole is among the assistants that received their badges.
The total of the football referees has 11 males and 8 females led by centre referee Aisha Ssemambo.
Male referees: Brian Miiro Nsubuga, Denis Batte, Alex Muhabi, Mashood Ssali and Ali Sabilla Chelangat
Assistant referees: Mark Ssonko, Lee Okello, Ronald Katenya, Hussein Bugembe, Musa Balikoowa Ngobi and Okello Dick.
Women referees: Aisha Semambo, Anna Akoyi and Habiba Naigaga
Women Assistant referees: Catherine Cynthia Nagaddya, Marex Nakitto Nkumbi, Jane Mutonyi, Dorcus Atuhaire and Lydia Nantabo Wanyama
