Lawrence Tezikya scored the only goal of the match as Busoga United continued their impressive start to the second round with a 1-0 victory over visiting Mbarara City at the Mighty Arena Stadium on Saturday.

Busoga have now won all their three second round matches of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL).

They opened with a comfortable 2-0 win over six-time winners Express, added onto that a 1-0 victory over 16-time record champions, and now this.

This has seen them rise up the table to seventh on 27 points, while defeat for Mbarara, their eighth, has them two places below on 22 points.

Tezikya scored the all-important goal on 63 minutes and Mbarara, who have now lost all their three second round matches, never answered back.

Saidi Kyeyune put in a Man of the Match performance but it is Cromwel Rwothomio’s goal that counted as URA beat Bright Stars at the Arena of Visions.

In Luzira, a Steven Mukwala penalty for his 12th of the season on the stroke of half time added onto Fred Amaku earlier strike as Maroons returned to winning ways, beating visitors Bul 2-0.
