- Vipers Vs SC Villa – StarTimes stadium, Kitende 4pm [Agg: 0-0]
SC Villa and Vipers seek to complete the Stanbic Uganda Cup final set up when they face off at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.
In the first leg, the two sides drew goalless at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku in a game marred by violence in the stands and on the pitch.
But the two teams will be eager to hit the back of the net in order to claim a final spot where holders KCCA are lurking.
SC Villa go into the game minus four key players – Samson Kirya, Alex Kitaata, George Senkaaba and Nicholas Kasozi (malaria) are all ruled out of the encounter.
Nevertheless, skipper Bernard Muwanga is confident the visitors can get a result that earns them a spot in the June 9 finals due in Bukedea.
“We would have loved a better result in the first leg,” he said. “But even a goalless draw means the game remains evenly poised and we shall fight for a result,” he added.
Vipers will also miss the services of suspended Taddeo Lwanga but welcome forward Milton Karisa from suspension.
The forward missed the first leg due to suspension and his returns bolsters the newly crowned champions attacking force.
SC Villa holds the edge in the past Uganda Cup meetings winning 2-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals of 2008-09.
Andrew Nkurunungi double earned the Blues a 2-0 in the first leg then while Andy Ssali strike wasn’t enough to change the tide of the game in the return leg.
