Jinja Municipal Hippos cross the Nile River on Tuesday for a short trip to Lugazi for their Azam Uganda premier league fixture against URA seeking revenge.

The Hippos have been the most impressive team amongst the three newly promoted sides and currently occupy third spot behind leaders KCCA and Vipers.

The tax collectors have won only two of their last five games, both against relegation candidates Simba (3-2) and Maroons (3-0) and only survived The Saints uprising after picking a second half equaliser through Feni Ali.

It’s for this reason that Hippos skipper Richard Wandyaka fancies his team’s chances against Kefa Kisala’s side saying their top five finish target can only be achievable with picking points in games like this.

“Our initial plan was to survive relegation this season,” he told upl.co.ug before adding. “But after testing all the teams in the first round, we are now upbeat that finishing in the top five is a possibility and so we need to pick points against teams like URA.”

Wandyaka who has scored five league goals this term also reveals a revenge mission. “They beat us at home and it’s time for payment.”

Meanwhile, the side’s backline which has been a strong foundation for their success will be under check by league’s top marksman Robert Ssentongo.

URA won 2-1 away in Jinja in the first round.– Walter Bankene scored Hippos consolation after Elkanah Nkugwa and Robert Ssentongo netted for the visitors then.
