KCCA 2-1 Kirinya-Jinja

A brace from Patrick Kaddu was enough for KCCA to shake off a resilient Kirinya-Jinja in a 2-1 victory at StarTimes Stadium on Wednesday.

The victory moved KCCA back into second place of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) able on 26 points, five behind leaders SC Villa.

Defeat for Kirinya, who had their coach Charles Ayiekoh off the bench through suspension, leaves them 11th on 17 points.

Starting in attack alongside Tito Okello and in the absence of rested Derrick Nsibambi and Muhammad Shaban, Kaddu never disappointed KCCA manager Mike Mutebi.

The striker first pounced on 29 minutes when he profited from a goalline melee to force home the opener.

But Kirinya never caved in, Fred Amaku missing by whisker on two occasions before his fine solo mazy run in KCCA’s box produced the equalizer on 53 minutes.

The hosts poured forward in search for the winner and it arrived when skipper Denis Okot whipped in a ball which substitute Paul Mucureezi cooled and placed for Kaddu to complete his brace on 83 minutes.
