• Uganda 1-0 Cape Verde

Patrick Kaddu scored the winner as Uganda Cranes won 1-0 against Cape Verde to reach successive Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Uganda started brightly and should have gone ahead inside ten minutes but Farouk Miya shot direct at the goalkeeper after a good pass from Denis Iguma.

There was not much to write about in the first half as both sides settled for a stalemate.

In the second half, the Cranes still remained in control with Kaddu, Miya and Moses Waiswa all attempting shots on goal but most were blocked.

Coach Sebastien Desabre made the first change with Isaac Muleme paving way for Allan Kyambadde midway the second half.

In the 78th minute, Kyambadde made a telling contribution when he headed to Walusimbi whose first time cross was met by Kaddu at the near post to head home.

The day’s hero later paved way for Edirisa Lubega while in the final minutes, Timothy Awany came on for the injured Khalid Aucho as Uganda held on to win the game and move to 13 points.
