KCCA 1-0 Onduparaka
Patrick Kaddu scored from the penalty spot to keep KCCA fully in charge of proceedings in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) at Lugogo on Tuesday.
Victory, KCCA’s 12th in 17 matches, moved them to 40 points, three more than Vipers, who also took good care of Nyamityobora.
It was a game any side could have won, with Abel Eturude and second half substitute Gadaffi Gadinho asking a Nicholas Kasozi and Muzamiru Mutyaba midfield a lot of questions.
The first real scare for the hosts came when Onduparaka hotshot Viane Sekajugo beat his man to cross for Nicholas Kagaba but the forward failed to connect with goalkeeper Charles Lukwago beaten.
But it is KCCA who instead took the lead, a quick interplay ending on Allan Kyambadde’s feet.
Kyambadde quickly invited Rashid Okocha into a tackle only the forward would win, leaving referee Mashood Ssali no other option but point to the spot.
Kaddu stepped up and struck it had and in it went off goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato’s gloves for the winner on 63 minutes.
