Vipers SC coach Fred Kajoba insists he believes in his attacking options even after losing Fahad Bayo to Ashdod in Israel and letting go of Steven Mukwala.

Mukwala top scored for Maroons and the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) last season with 13 goals while.on loan from Vipers.

His returns showed made a case for the return to Vipers, whom Bayo top scored for with 12 goals.

But Kajoba says the options available are sufficient enough to help the club in the league title defence, Uganda Cup and the continent.

“We have Kyabatala (Umar), Ndugwa (Abraham) and Sserunkuma (Daniel),” he told Daily Monitor newspaper.

“They will score. The good thing is we have the players to deliver the ball forward to the strikers,” he added.

New recruits Ibrahim Orit from Mbarara City, experienced David Bagoole from Busoga United and Jamil Kalisa, an arrival from Bright Stars, plus newly-wed Paul Mucureezi are some of the ball carriers Kajoba is counting on.

On why he didn’t recall Mukwala from loan at Maroons, Kajoba said “I also have Shaban (Muhammad).”

Shaban has not played in over a year since returning from Morocco last year.

“I thought through the Mukwala situation again and concluded that once Shaban is fit, he is a better option.”

Shaban is back doing private training after recovering from a long term knee injury.

Vipers have also been buoyed by the arrival of former Express engine Disan Galiwango, who – together with Geoffrey Wasswa – have the Venoms issues from the back sorted.
