Express 1-1 Soltilo Bright Stars

Denis Kaka Omony came off the bench to level late for Soltilo Bright Stars and spoil Express’ party in the 1-1 draw the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Friday.

George Senkaaba had given the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) defending champions the lead when he guided home the ball from a glancing header by Eric Kambale off Godfrey Lwesibawa’s corner on 57 minutes.

But with the clock ticking down, Omony – a second half replacement of Ibrahim Kasinde, took full advantage of poor communication between Express skipper Enock Walusimbi and goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa to score into an empty net just before full time.

The result sees Express end their first round games on 27 points, currently lying third on the 16-team table.

Bright Stars remain in the 13th with 11 points off 14 matches.
