Amir Kakomo has joined a growing list of players departing SC Villa ahead of the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) football season.
The player, who has spent four years with the 16-time national champions, announced on his Twitter handle he had quit the club on Monday.
“Today I sadly say goodbye to an amazing club that I will carry in my heart always,” said Kakomo.
The midfielder joined the club in 2018 under Moses Basena in a period of turmoil after then president Ben Immanuel Misagga had quit.
Kakomo has been a mainstay at Villa Park and one of the most important players at the club.
His biggest output was in 2020/21, where he made a formidable partnership with Emmanuel Wasswa and helped the club finish third in the league. Gaddafi FC are rumoured to be Kakomo’s next destination.
