Tuesday results
Police 0-1 Express
UPDF 0-0 Wakiso Giants
Express will hope Wednesday results play out in their favour after Eric Kambale’s late goal sent them to second place on Tuesday.
The goal, a header, came with seven minutes from time after both teams had held off each other for majority of the game.
It sees Express move one up to second to dislodge reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL), Vipers SC, who could reclaim their spot if they beat KCCA on Wednesday.
Express now end the first round on 32 points, one fewer than leaders URA, who visit Onduparaka for their final match of the season’s initial period on Wednesday.
Police stay fifth on 25 points after registering seven wins in 15 first round matches.
In the day’s other game, UPDF could only settle for a goalless draw with Wakiso Giants.
UPDF stay sixth on 25 points, while Wakiso are five below on 16.
