Kambale penalty wins it for Express

Eric Kambale’s first half penalty was enough for Express to grit out their first maximum points at home as they edged Wakiso Giants 1-0  at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

The striker converted in the 36th minute, sending Derrick Emukule the wrong way after a foul on winger Martin Kiiza.

The win moves Express to 11 points from seven games. The Red Eagles now sit sixth on the table. Wakiso Giants stay fourth with a point better.

Wakiso dominated proceedings but it is Express that boasted clearer cut chances, with Kambale denied by the cross bar in the first half.

Express next travel to Onduparaka, who lost to Villa, on Tuesday while the Wakiso host Soltilo Bright Stars at Wakissha.

Elsewhere, Nelson Senkatuka’s 39th minute penalty was the only goal as Bright Stars beat Tooro United 1-0 in Wakiso.

Police held Mbarara goalless for the Cops first point of the season.
