KCCA 3-0 Express
The long awaited goal for KCCA’s Congolese import Tshisungu Kankonde finally came on Friday as KCCA saw off Express 3-0 at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Moses Waiswa and Charles Lwanga got the other goals for the 13-time champions to return top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.
Coach Morley Byekwaso’s men have now won eight out of their 11 matches, opening a two-point lead at the top on 25.
On their part, it’s getting worse for Express. This was the Red Eagles fourth straight defeat, leaving them ninth on 14 points from 11 matches.
KCCA went ahead inside three minutes after Express’ Derrick Ngobi fouled Allan Okello in the penalty area. Waiswa stepped forward and buried it.
Kankonde’s moment then came on 73 minutes, the striker – who joined KCCA at the start of the season – taking full advantage of Waiswa’s assist.
Byekwaso shuffled things up, bringing in Saidi Mayanja and Charles Lwanga for Waiswa and Mohammad Shaban.
And it was Lwanga who who made his arrival more pronounced as the youngster scored KCCA’s third to complete a solid victory.
