- Platinum Stars (RSA) 3-1 Vipers (Uganda) – [Platinum Stars win 3-2 on aggregate]
Vipers conceded a penalty late in the game against Platinum Stars to bow out 3-2 on aggregate in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Carrying a slim 1-0 lead from the first leg, Uganda’s representatives went a goal down inside two minutes when the referee awarded a penalty to the opponents which goalkeeper Mbogeni Mzimela converted.
Ndumiso Mabena doubled the Dikwena’s lead moments later but the visitors had a goal disallowed in between the two goals when Erisa Ssekisambu hit the back of the net.
Ten minutes after the break, Milton Karisa, scorer of the winning goal in Kitende last weekend grabbed a goal for Miguel Duarte’s side which was enough to seal the Venoms’ progress to the next round.
But within the last minutes of the game, the referee awarded another penalty which Mzimela converted to send the venoms crashing 3-2 on aggregate.
