Proline coach Mujib Kasule has attributed his side’s 3-2 weekend defeat to KCCA in the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) to the Philip Omondi Stadium artificial turf.
Derrick Nsibambi, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Geoffrey Sserunkuuma netted for the league leaders, KCCA, while Nelson Ssenkatuuka and Edrisa Lubega got 13th-placed Proline’s goals.
“Yes we host our games here like KCCA but we never get sufficient time to train on the turf like them,” explained a downcast Kasule.
Proline hold their training sessions at East Kololo Primary School’s grassless pitch. Kasule argues that this could be the reason Proline are yet to win a home game this season.
Victory kept KCCA top of the table with 31 points, four points ahead of second-placed Villa, who edged Vipers 2-1 at Nakivubo.
Defeat leaves Proline, who have won just one match in 13, a place above relegation on 12 points.
Proline next face Kirinya-Jinja SS at the same venue on Tuesday while KCCA return to action a day later with a trip to Jinja to meet Sadolin Paints.
