Busoga United 2-0 Onduparaka
KCCA 1-0 Mbarara City
KCCA returned to the summit of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) following a narrow 1-0 victory over visiting Mbarara City at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.
Herbert Achai was the match winner as the 13-time champions dislodged Vipers SC from the top having temporarily surrendered the lead.
Coach Morley Byekwaso’s men move to 31 points, just two ahead of Vipers after 13 matches.
Mbarara City remain 12th on the 16-team log with 14 points in as many games.
KCCA remain the only unbeaten side across the division, and should have scored more here but for poor decision making in the final third coupled with Mbarara’s resoluteness.
Achai won it for them with the first shot on goal in the first minute of the game and that just about did it.
Across in the east of the country, 10-man Busoga United saw off Onduparaka in the 2-0 victory.
Shaka Sozi and Edrine Opara Mukisa scored in either half to help the struggling bottom half side, who lost Sande Mulanda to a red card after two bookable offences.
The league now take a short break to allow the national team take part in the six international friendlies line up in Europe.
