Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) champions, KCCA begin the journey to represent the country in the CAF Champions League this Friday afternoon at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
The reigning champions, who also lead the 2016/17 premier league log on 35 points after 16 games host Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto at the astro turf confident of a good result that will see them progress to the next stage.
For Coach Mike Mutebi, the key target is to win, with a clean sheet on the day is optimistic the boys have what it takes to reach the group stages of the competition.
“I have utmost conviction that we have prepared well for this game,” he said. “The most important thing tomorrow (Friday) is to keep a clean sheet. In such home and away ties, clean sheets are very key,” he added.
League’s leading scorer Geoffrey Sserunkuma, creative midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba and utility Joseph Ochaya will be the key players for the eleven time Uganda champions.
