Reigning champions KCCA ended Vipers’ 13-match unbeaten run this season with a 1-0 victory at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
Muzamiru Mutyaba scored the winner at the half hour mark to send the Kasasiro on a five match winning streak.
KCCA were dominant in the first half with Mustafa Kizza, Jackson Nunda and Erisa Ssekisambu all coming close.
After the break, Vipers had an improvement performance as they searched for the leveller and Allan Kayiwa was denied by goalie Jamil Maliyamungu with the game’s stunning save.
Both teams missed their key players with the hosts playing minus skipper Charles Lukwago as well as midfield gems Allan Okello and Nicholas Kasozi.
Vipers also missed inspirational captain Halid Lwaliwa, striker Fahad Bayo and youngsters Bobosi Byaruhanga and AbdulKarim Watambala.
The win lifts KCCA to 5th position with 22 points in 10 games while Vipers stay top with 33 points but have played four games more
