KCCA FC fans throwing their support behind their team as they faced off with rivals SC Villa in the Azam Uganda Premier League on February 15, 2018.

Wednesday AUPL result

Masavu 0-0 KCCA

Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) defending champions, KCCA, ceded ground in the title race as they fired blanks in the goalless draw with lowly Masavu at Bugonga on Wednesday.

The result coincided with SC villa’s resounding 3-0 victory over URA in Masaka.

That left KCCA three points behind Villa’s 36 and two adrift of second placed Vipers.

But Mike Mutebi’s KCCA can take solace in the one game in hand they have on Vipers and Villa.

The champions next face Soana on Saturday before facing Ethiopia’s St George in the Caf Champions League next week.

Villa have won the national title a record 16 times but KCCA,  who have clinched the last two on the bounce, have since reduced the deficit to only four gongs from catching the Jogoos.
