SUPL Tuesday collated results
Kyetume 0-2 KCCA
Proline 2-1 Police
Onduparaka 2-1 Busoga United
KCCA closed to within two points of leaders Vipers following a 2-0 away victory at Kyetume on Tuesday.
Sadat Anaku and Erisa Ssekisambu were on the scoresheet for the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) defending champions.
Victory moved manager Mike Mutebi’s men to 41 points, two behind Vipers, who were held to a goalless draw by Mbarara City in Bombo.
Anaku scored KCCA’s first on nine minutes before Ssekisambu sent them to the break 2-0 up.
This only served to spice up the title run-in, with both Vipers and KCCA having played the same number of games at 19.
Onduparaka also went third on the log following their 2-1 win at home to Busoga United, who came into this on the back of three straight victories in the second round.
Julius Malingumu first put the hosts ahead on 25 minutes but Nelson Mandela silenced the home crowd at Green Light Stadium with a leveler three minutes later.
However, that only set the stage for Richard Okocha to score the winner on 68 minutes for Onduparaka to go level on 30 points with SC Villa and URA. Busoga are four places and three points below Onduparaka.
At Lugogo, Proline got a lease of life in relegation battle with a 2-1 win over Police, thanks to a set of penalties from Mustapha Mujuzi on four and 14 minutes. Derrick Kakooza scored Police’s consolation in between.
Proline, however, remain second from bottom on the table with 15 points, with Police four places and six points above them.
